Anayurt Oteli 2016’nın En İyi Çevirileri Arasında

Geçen Aralık ayında İngilizcede yayımlanan, Yusuf Atılgan’ın romanı Anayurt Oteli , 2016 yılının en iyi çeviri eserleri arasında gösterildi. World Literature Today’s tarafından yayımlanan “2016’nın dikkate değer 75 çeviri eseri” başlıklı haberde, tüm dünyadan İngilizceye çevrilen eserler sıralanırken Türkiye’den sadece Anayurt Oteli ‘ne yer verildi.

City Lights Books yayınevince “Motherland Hotel” adıyla yayımlanan roman, Fred Stark tarafından çevrilmişti.

Orhan Pamuk kaleme aldığı tanıtım yazısında, Yusuf Atılgan’ın Türkiye edebiyatında modernizmin öncülerinden olduğunu belirtilirken, Alberto Manguel’in esere ilişkin şu sözleri aktarılıyor:

“Anayurt Oteli sarsıcı bir başyapıt, mükemmel bir varoluşsal kâbus, ertelendikçe ertelenen cennet bahçesinin eşiğindeki bir ruhun portresi.”
